Mickie Wong-Lo, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Special Education and the Undergraduate Program Director at Northeastern Illinois University. Dr. Wong-Lo completed her doctoral studies in Special Education with a specialization on Emotional/Behavioral Disorders and Juvenile Delinquency at the University of North Texas. Prior to entering the field of higher education, she worked as a training coordinator and behavior consultant for private and public education facilities in Texas for over ten years. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Council for Exceptional Children, consulting editor for the Journal of Preventing School Failure and reviewing editor for the Journal of Gang Research. As an advocate for safe schools and mental health, she often speaks nationally and internationally on issues relating to school violence/aggression and bullying/cyberbullying.
