Dr. Mary Ruettgers
Dr. Mary Ruettgers is an Assistant Professor of Teacher Education and the Middle/Secondary School Program Chair at Lindenwood University. Ruettgers joined the Lindenwood University Faculty in 2014 after earning her doctorate degree from Lindenwood University in 2013. In 2014, Dr. Ruettgers was awarded Lindenwood University’s Lighthouse Consulting Award for Doctoral Excellence.
She earned a Master of Arts in English in 2010 from University of Missouri, St. Louis where she participated in the Gateway Writing Project. Dr. Ruettgers also earned a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Lindenwood University in 2007. She attended McKendree University where she graduated with a Bachelors of Science in elementary education with a middle school endorsement in Language Arts. Dr. Ruettgers earned an Associate of Science degree and an Associate of Art degree from Southwestern Illinois College. Prior to joining the School of Education faculty, she taught a variety of English courses at the junior high, high school, and collegiate levels. While teaching high school English, she served as a local sponsor of the Future Educator’s Association. Dr. Ruettgers’ research focuses on preparing teacher preparation program graduates with the 21st century knowledge and skills necessary to effectively lead in today’s classrooms.
