As a senior lecturer in the Bachelor of Education program at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT), Jennifer teaches Child and Adolescent Development, Special Needs and Diversity, and Mental Health in the Classroom; all courses that focus on the healthy development of children and adolescents. Jennifer developed one of the first B.Ed. elective courses in Canada specifically focused on mental health. She currently conducts research in the areas of at-risk youth, bullying, youth suicide and mental health training for teachers and students. Jennifer has also worked in the mental health field for over 20 yrs. She specializes in working with children and adolescents. She is currently one of the lead trainers for Mental Health First Aid across Canada.
